Can somebody break down the word "arrivederci" for me?
How does this word/expression actually work? Is it constructed with a conjugated verb with "ci" added to it? I have no clue what verb or type of grammar it uses. Or am I way off? I know it's an everyday word but I never see a clear and proper explanation for all the different parts, and it's driving me mad!

a-ri-vedere-ci
a = at the next time that, it expresses a kind of wish that what follows will happen.
ri = again (same root as the stem of English 'repetition')
vedere = to see
ci = noi (us) as an object in the reflexive form of the verb: vedersi

arrivederci, from a (“to”) with rivederci (“we see each other again”), from the infinitive rivedersi (“to see each other or meet again”), from ri- with the infinitive vedersi (“to see oneself”), from vedere (“to see”) with si (“self”).
