As usual, I agree with Michael. The only way anyone can know this is to look it up, so you may as well do the research yourself.

I agree that it does depend very much on the subject. I also agree that from the point of view of the employer, the reputation of the university is more important than the grade.

I suggest that you do this research yourself because it's not general knowledge even for British people.  You need to compare grades in the same subject.  It's much harder to get a first class degree in some subjects compared to others. In my view, I believe that a 2:1 at an average university is, in general, better to have than a 2:2 from a leading university.
