"Riposta/o" può avere molti significati. - è il participio passato di "riporre", che significa "collocare", "mettere qualcosa nel posto in cui era prima"/"to place", "to put back" (esempio: ho riposto il libro nello scaffale) oppure "presentare di nuovo"/"to propose again" (esempio: ho riposto una domanda). - è un aggettivo che significa "nascosta"/ "hidden", "segreta"/ "secret". - "riposta" come sostantivo femminile può significare anche "provvista", "riserva"/ "reserve" (ma non è molto comune). "Risposta"/"answer" è l'atto di rispondere a una domanda. Si distinguono sicuramente per una S, ahahah! :D

Hi Bill, yes similar words in writing but very different meaning. we can say RIPOSTO (VERBO RIPORRE) = put, put away , pack away or stow for example when -YOU PUT YOUR SWEATER IN THE CLOSET = RIPONI IL TUO MAGLIONE NELL'ARMADIO ,or - YOU CAN PUT YOUR BOOK IN THE LIBRARY= PUOI RIPORRE IL TUO LIBRO NELLA LIBRERIA, or - PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPONS= METTI GIU' LE ARMI or RIPONI LE ARMI. (I don't know if i write the sentences excatly in english). or -LA CHIAVE E' STATA RIPOSTA NEL CASSETTO= THE KEY HAS BEEN PUT IN THE DRAWER. Then RISPOSTA is simply ANSWER. -What's your aswer? Qual è la tua risposta? or -La risposta giusta è... The right aswer is.. -Can you tell me the answer? Sai dirmi la risposta?
