The act to hide under the roof or something when it rains
Hello everyone,
I want to know the word or idioms that you usually use of the act to hide under the roof or something like that (such as under tree) when it rains.
I found the words "shelter or take shelter". But it feels too strong for me. I wonder it is supposed to be used in case of kind of storm.
When you walk on the street, it starts rain, you find a tree, and hide under the tree to avoid getting rain, how do you say the act?
I would be very happy if you give me advice.
Thank you.

"Let's get out of the rain" works fine too. This may be the most common and straightforward way to express it.

I guess I "take cover" (military phrase) or "get under cover" (less so) ;)
