What is a common expression for 'been there' in Chinese I want to say: "I've been there" .. I know that 过 means have been, but I find it a bit hard to form a much complex sentence. Could you please help me give some example of it that is commonly used? 我要说: "I've been there", 我知道 “过” 的意思, 可是我发现很难形成复杂的句子。大家请帮我。。 谢谢 ^^

I think we can take a look at the following 2 things: 1. “过” is more like HAVE rather than HAVE+BEEN. In English, we talk with the"HAVE+VERB(PAST PARTICIPLE)" structure, but in Chinese, the structure is VERB+过. For instance: 1). I have seen this movie. 我看过这部电影。 2). She has hepled me many times. 她帮过我很多次。 3). We've tried Spanish food. 我们吃过西班牙菜。 2. When the English word BE works as a verb with the meaning of "situate in some place", its corresponding translation in Chinese is 去, like GO. So, "I've been there." is “我去过那儿” in Chinese.

V.+过=have done sth. 主语(subject, like:我/你/他)+时间(when, like:上星期)+v.+"过"(have done sth.) I [have been to] China three years ago.我三年前[去过]中国。 I [have seen] this movie before.我上星期[看过]这部电影了。

Some more sentences jumped into my mind: I've been there. 我去过那里。 I've been there before. 我以前去过那里。 I've been there several times. 我去过那里好几次了。 I've been there last year. 去年我去过那里。 I've been there with my friend last year. 去年我和朋友去过那里。 Hope these sentences will help. :)

The following expressions have the same meaning: 1.我(去/到/来)过这里 2.这里我(去/来)过了 Advanced: 1.我 (曾经/以前) (去/到/来) 过这里 2.这里我(曾经/以前)(去/来)过了
