Sometimes on the internet, I see phrases like:
How do I make that?
How do I insert data into a database?

Th question is, are they correct questions? I clearly get something like "How can I..." but "How do I" sounds...strange for me (perhaps, because I'm not a native one). On the other hand, I can get them as stressing the questions like "How can I do that no matter what?".

Please advise.

I just want to add that you can also ask: "How do you...?" The "you" is then an impersonal "you" - it refers to people in general.

How do i...? and How can i...?

...are different types of questions and both are correct, but 'how do i...' is more to ask how to do something.

You wouldn't ask 'how can i play the guitar'? for instance, you would ask 'how do i play the guitar'?

There's probably a proper 'rule' for this which someone else should be able to clear up, but in the meantime get some example sentences online by typing "How do i *" into google.
