Question
Hi, everyone
Could you help me with some questions?
Please!
1) Let us say you are in a car and someone calls you and you want to say where you are but you don't know the name of the road, could you say something like: "I am on that road by Wall Mart" Can i use "by" here? What could I say?
2) Does it sound odd to say "(when talking) Let's take X street on our way there and then the next street over on our way back"
3) Do you say "I bought a Ralph Lauren shirt" or "I bought a Ralph Lauren's shirt"? What about "I bout a Ivanka Trump's brand's dress" or "I bought a Ivanka Trump's brand dress"? Or neither?
What about "That(shirt) is Ralph Lauren's" or "That shirt is a Ralph Lauren"? Neither?
Thank you very much!

1) yes that's fine. You can also say "I'm on the road with a Walmart", or "I'm on the road next to Walmart". They all work in English.
2) That sentence makes perfect sense.
3) You would say "I bought a Ralph Lauren shirt". Although Ralph Lauren is technically a person, you are referring to the company, not the man himself, so you don't need the -'s.
I would say "That shirt is Ralph Lauren" or possibly "That shirt is from Ralph Lauren"
Again, if I was referring to Ivanka Trump's brand, rather than her personal dress, I would say "I bought
an Ivanka Trump dress". I don't think you need the word 'brand' in this context, as it seems obvious this is what you mean, but you could say "I bought an Ivanka Trump brand dress". Either way, I wouldn't use the -'s at all.
