1. 죽은 사람의 심정의 되어 하루를 보내 보았다. 그건 정말 산나는 놀이였다. 그거야말로 본격적인 시체놀이겠지만 시체나 흉내 내던 그것과는 전혀 달랐다. [I don't get the 시체나 흉내 내던 그것과는.... What does 그것과 is referring to anyway?]

2. 정소희는 다정하게 웃으며 나한테 인사를 건넸다. 내가 아직도 자기에게 빠져 있다는 것을 잘 아는 저 자신만만하면서도 연민 어린 태도..... 나는 겨우, 음, 음, 하면서 바보 같은 모습만 보였다.

Does '저' in '저 자신만만하면서도' have a meaning? I mean in this context does it mean 'that'?
Dictionary says 연민 어린 태도 - compassionate attitude. But isn't 어린 = 어리다 = to be young, child etc..? ]

=> I deliberately spent a day trying to be in the shoes of a dead person. It was a fantastic game, a true no-holds-barred corpse play which was a far departure from what we had been doing merely imitating a corpse.

* 시체나 흉내 내던 그것과는 - 그것 means the old game or the act of playing it as they used to do it before the new way.

2. 정소희는 다정하게 웃으며 나한테 인사를 건넸다. 내가 아직도 자기에게 빠져 있다는 것을 잘 아는 저 자신만만하면서도 연민 어린 태도..... 나는 겨우, 음, 음, 하면서 바보 같은 모습만 보였다.
=> 정소희 greeted me with a sweet smile, displaying such an unmitigated air of confidence yet not completely unsympathetic, obviously knowing very well that I was still infatuated with her ... and I was reduced to a fool before her, barely uttering silly um's and ah's.

* '자기' is a pronoun meaning "oneself", or the person referred to. Here it means 정소희.
