How can I interpret this lyrics? 'strike' is not correct. 'it strikes' is the correct present tense conjugation. But here it is past tense, so 'it struck' is correct. Clocks with bells or chimes strike hours, so normally we would say 'the clock struck one' when it was one o'clock. Here, they are suggesting they are using the moon to tell the time, and pretending that it can strike the hours like a clock.
