Differences between past and present perfect
I found this sentence on the internet.
"Tim Banks has committed suicide after being relentlessly bullied at school for being gay."
I want know differences if I change 'has committed' to 'committed'.

Technically, you can change it to past simple, but then the news (present perfect) becomes history (past simple).
