What's the meaning here of the expression "...and no jelly!" The DCI Sam Tayler founds himself in the year of 1973 after a car crash, but he doesn't believe it. He slaps himself on cheeks, shakes his head to be awakened from that dreadful dream. He comes for a once-over to Annie Cartwright who has a doctor's qualification and in the end asks her to hit him to be sure that he's not dreaming. She hits him in the back, he bends down with Annie hagging him from the back and saying her sorry's. Sorry, no. It's not talking about the type of jelly you might eat. Gene Hunt 's comment is "Good girl! Prostate probe with no jelly". Here, 'jelly' refers to KY jelly, which is a lubricating product used to assist the professional examination of ...um.... intimate body parts. This is because Tyler seems to be in a great deal of pain following the encounter with Annie. Btw. Annie isn't medically qualified at all. She's a WPC (police officer), and she says "I'm about as qualified as Dr Kildare". This is a reference to a TV drama of the time.
