what does "cheese bell"here mean? i don't get this joke.
"I know what should be done with you," Larsa said then. "You should be put inside a cheese bell, so that you can't find out so much. I'll get hold of a big cheese bell. I'll phone the shop tomorrow. Then you can stay in there all the time and sit on our table."
I didn't like it when he teased me that way. But then Larsa said that he would live in the cheese bell, too.

Here's an image of a cheese bell.

Didn't know what a chees bell was either until checked out the link that was already given
Basically it means, in this case, that he (Larsa) wanted to put her in a "chees bell" in other words a glass casing so that she shouldn't hear everything. He wants to limit the "speaker" in this piece from (for example) eavesdropping and finding out stuff/or learning stuff others didn't want her/him from finding out/learning.
It's figurative speaking, or 'creative' thinking that brought about the reason he wants to use a "cheese bell" instead say ear muffs or earplugs... Larsa has the "creative" idea of isolating her from everything and everyone so she can't "know so much"
