Help me to find a good Chinese name! Hi! My name is Elise (the English version is Alice) and I'm looking for a good Chinese name. I used to have a Chinese name which was: 爱林丝, but I'd like to have another one. I don't really like the use of 爱 as a surname. It sounds a bit cliche or even mellow... Some of my friends really of beautiful names like 洋小芬, her real name Sophie, so this name is not based on pronunciation, but rather on her character. I would like to find this kind of name for me as well. I'll give you some words that relate to my personality to make it easier to find a suitable name: strong, positive, cheerful. (and a bit stubborn sometimes, but doesn't need to be reflected in the name...) Thank you for helping me! I really think that having a Chinese name really makes it more easy to interact with Chinese people, because they are likely to remember your Chinese name. This name might fit you:卿城(qing cheng).卿 is a surname in Chinese and have the same pronunciation with 倾,卿城 sounds like 倾城 and 倾国倾城 is a idiom that is used for describing a girl who is extremely beautiful,倾城 is a part of it. Another reason is that this name is very refined because 倾国倾城 is come from an ancient Chinese book,that makes this name very cultured . Anyway,this is my personnal advice,hope u like it

艾 is called Asiatic wormwood or Artemisia argyi in English.It is a symbol of virtue and beauty. There are a lot of words which means warmth, such as 煦(xu) and 阳(yang), but you have to change the places of the words because of their musical tones. 2-character names are common in China, but the first character should be your family name, or it just can be used as a nickname.For example, 小红 is a nickname, but 李红 is a formal name.I don't know whether 阿 is a family name, but for most of the Chinese, it seems to be a nickname.

李小艾 or 李小宛 both are general name in china, I think 文澜（wenlan） is good.but you know,there is a chinese singer called 温岚(wenlan)，so you can choose a word as surname before 文澜，

How about "伊利" It is a brand of milk, sounds sweet and quit easy to remember. the pronunciation of 伊利 is simple too ---"Yi Li" Think about it , hope you will choose this as your chinese name :-) 阿依 and 李丹 ,i didn't mean they are bad names ,but...a little bit corny i guess. and my name, 2-character ,that's common in China.

2-character names are also common in china,my name is 李鋆,just hv 2 characters~i think the name which was mentioned by claire sounds like foreigner's name,not common is china^_^i dont know why many people gave u 李as your family name,if u like it,how about李雪馨 (li3 xue3 xin1) 雪means snow,immaculate,and the 馨means warm and fragrant ~~
