the one ... and the other one?
Hi guys,
there is a phrase or a phrasal combination, which we can use for description of two things. Is that "the one ... and the other one ..."? For example, I have two bikes, the one is red and the other one is green.
Thanks a lot:)

One is red - not THE one

Hey nonamebutY, how are you?
As Charlie said above, you should say only ''one is...'' without the article ''the'' before the word ''one''. As for the second phrase ''the other one'', you might omit ''one'' if you wish to since it is already implied within the context. Below you shall find a set of similar examples:
1) ''My friend has two sisters - one is a lady and the other (one) holds such a wanton behavior!''
2) ''I have got these two games - one is perfect, the other (one) is fairly playable!''
3) ''We have two dogs - one is rather noisy and the other (one) can't ever be bothered to bark!''
4) ''Have you met the new twins who were transferred to our school this week?
''Oh, yes, I have! One is very boring, whereas the other (one) seems to be a nice person!''
Hope that helps!
