Diadem of Glory
'Time' and 'The time' I am confused about the differences between 'time' and 'the time' in the following sentence. Could you please offer me some tips? I would be indebted to you for your help. Thanks! Sentence: Language is not static, it changes with time and the times. In parenthesis, this sentence is depicted from Oxford Dictionary.

The is the definite article and here its purpose is to make noun 'time' specific. Language is not static, it changes with time ( time in general, another way to say this would be 'over time' and the time (a specific point in time, like now, meaning language changes to adapt to the time it is being spoken in.).

Oh, I see. It is a typo. Then what does 'the times' exactly mean in the sentence?

Note that it was 'the times', not 'the time'. That changes things considerably!
