A question about metaphors
I know that many English nouns have metaphorical meanings. The following are what I collected from Internet.
1.Beasts refer to someone mean and cruel.
Eg:Just look at the way he treats his wife! He is a beast.
2.Bears refer to someone rude and impolite.
eg: The old man is a bear; he is always grumbling.
3.A bird means a girlfriend informally.
eg: Jim took his bird to the pictures last night.
4.A cat refers to a mean and bad woman.
Eg: Don't listen to her gossip; she is a cat.
5. A mouse refers to a coward.
Eg: In public affairs he remained a mouse.
6.A donkey can refer to someone stupid.
Eg: Why did you put your finger in the fire, you silly donkey?
7.Lions refers to socialites.
Eg: The lions at her party included two musicians and a writer.
8.A fox can refer to a cunning person.
eg: Don't trust him. He is an old fox.
9.A shark can refer to a liar.
Eg: She entrusted all her savings to a shark who had promised to double her money.
10.A wolf or a goat can refer to a dirty man.
Eg: He has a face like an angel, but he is really a terrible wolf.
11. A chick means a girl informally.
Eg: You think some chick would date someone like you?
12 A rabbit means a novice or pool performer in a game informally.
Are those all right? Thanks in advance. These metaphors are driving me crazy.
