Both are correct dear. It depends on how you want to ask. Thanks. No 'a' is not necessary ,here.

"Communication" is an uncountable noun so it does not require an article. The correct version is "to have good communication with someone." For example: I have good communication with my boss and coworkers. My partner and I have good communication. Alternatively you could use "conversation" which is a countable noun. For example: I had a good conversation with my friends at the bar. My parents and I had a good conversation on Wednesday.

First Sentence is grammatically correct, usage of articles is necessary as articles refer or point out noun.
