I didn't find the meaning of Nifty portable. Could somebody tell me the meaning of nifty portable
I got this from Cambridge IELTS book.the full sentence is ,however ,there is a big stumbling block. the laser is no nifty portable;it's a monster that takes up a whole room.

Portable means easily carried or transported around.
Nifty means useful and novel and useful.
so it means a small useful portable device. Mobile phones would be nifty portable devices especially when first introduced.
