Is watermelon countable or uncountable? Suppose I have a sliced watermelon and I point to a piece of it and say it is a watermelon. Is watermelon countable here or uncountable? Is this sentence correct? It is a watermelon.

A watermelon refers to the whole fruit. When you cut it up you have watermelon or slices of watermelon. If you point to a slice of it you can call it 'watermelon', but not 'a watermelon'.
