Hello Hisun, According to the number of people speaking the language 'English' comes after "Chinese Mandarin". Chinese Mandarin is the most widely spoken language on the planet based in the most populated country . Number of speakers 1 billion + In the second place comes "English" spoken by 508 million in the world.While English doesn’t have the most speakers, it is the official language of more countries than any other language.

@Marie, precisely spoken French doesn't take the third place among the most widely spoken languages in the world. After those 2 comes Spanish , Hindi and some other languages and French ranks around the 9th or 10th most spoken language in the world. All this is in terms of the number of people speaking it and according to recent statistics.
