What is the best time of year to visit Japan?

Spring is a very beatiful time to visit Japan to see the Cherry Blossoms around the country. However, in Japan they say "Shokuyoku no Aki" or "Autumn (for) Appetite" as many delicious seasonal dishes are prepared at this time.

Where are you going to visit? I am thinking maybe for different places, the weather might vary significantly.
