在城区里交通常常很稠。问题是，很多私人车里，只有一个人。因此交通设计师想出来了：carpool line.把一条高速公路的车道指定carpool line.在这条车道，只可以开最少有3人在里边的私人车。在carpool lane上，车比较少，交通比较顺利。人们共享汽车。比如跟同事共享。这样可以节约钱，节约时间。这个现象是九十年代开始的，只有一些美国的，欧洲的省使用。这是一个好主意，很遗憾，常常成功不是很大。

Carpool = when people go to work at the same office they share a car (it's cheaper) The car comes to pick you up somewhere, so there is a lane where the car can stop and pick you up.

That's the lane on the highway were a car needs at least 2 people inside the car. Can be more people in some areas. Cars with a single person in it are not allowed to use it.
