Hello Susu :) Don't worry this is usually a confusing concept. Affect is a verb, so "to affect" is to impact something or someone. Example: The rain affected the traffic. So, the rain had an impact on the traffic. Effect is the result of being affected by something. For example The effects of the rain were devastating. Effort is when you're trying to do something or it's a determined attempt. For example : I put a lot of effort into my drawing. Hope this helps!

Loud noise affects my sleep. Sleeping pills have no effect on me. I’m still trying to make an effort to fall asleep.

If Tom eats too much sugar, will it AFFECT him in some negative ways? Oh, yes, it will. One of the negative EFFECTS will be a larger waistline. Mona has been studying English for ten years, but she still makes a lot of mistakes. Why? Well, I think that she should put more EFFORT into her studies. She would rather go dancing than do her English class homework.

Effort is the work/hardwork that you put in to do some task. Effect is the consequence of your work, what you get at the end - the fruits of your actions what you receive. Affect is the influence or impact on something because of the work that you do. I hope this helps. But if you still didnt understand I can explain once again. I'm always ready to help. One thing which you should keep in mind is that sometimes the verb and noun form of some words may be same - I mean the noun and verb form of effect is same. Thats the cause of your confusion. So just be clear and identify which part of the sentence the word is in and all your problems will be solved.
