I cuddled up to my mother and sat down beside her; let the mother in the ears is always nagging. In the second sentence, the structure seems like let+ a sentence, but I failed to find the usage of "let" of this sort. Could anyone please explain it to me? Thank you so much.

There's a mistake somewhere. As written, it doesn't make sense. As Leigh Mumford says, "yet" would make sense. Nowadays, many printed books are converted to electronic form by automated scanning, and there are often scanning errors. They are usually errors in single letters. This might be one of them.

Perhaps it is 'yet' and not 'let?

Seems odd to me. Are you sure it is correct? Where does it come from?
