Hi Valerie, I believe that there might have misinterpretation of a common figure of speech.
can't hold a candle to (someone or something)
Definition: Cannot compare to someone or something; is not nearly as good or desirable as someone or something.
Example: The second movie wasn't bad, but it can't hold a candle to the first.
I hope that helps.

I think it is a variation of “you can’t hold a candle to me”, which means “you are not nearly as good as me”. It fits in with the rest of what she said, i.e. they can’t play as well as she can and they never will.

The explanation is right there on the page, silly.
"Williams, the older sister of Serena Williams who has won six Grand Slam titles, said she doesn’t really get affected by prodding questions from reporters."
