Hello italki community, Could you please help me with a tricky sentence - "They will be taken a photo of next week." 1) I am not sure what the meaning of it, is it that a photo of some people will be taken in the next week or google's version - some people(they) will take a photo of the next week? 2) Is it grammatically correct? 3) For me it would be better if there were - in, "they will be taken IN a photo of next week". Thank you very much.

Это упражнение неграмматическое по-английски но можно понимать что автор хотел сказать. Лучше написать A photograph will be taken of them next week или They will be photographed next week. Если вы смотрите фотографию можно сказать, что кто-то в фотографии - например My brother is in the photograph next to my grandfather.

- They will be taken a photo of next week. - They will be taken in a photo of next week. Both are grammatically incorrect. Here's some grammatically correct sentences: They will take a photo next week. They will be taking a photo next week. A photo will be taken of them next week. Their photo will be taken next week. They will be in a photo taken next week. My best guess about the meaning is that a photo will be taken of some people next week

Remove the "of" in the sentence. They will be taken a photo next week..its more grammatically correct

Just from the sentence I can't tell what it's actually supposed to mean, it could either mean that a photo will be taken of them or that they will take a photo of something next week. I would have to know the context of this to know what the correct form is, but the sentence you posted is not grammatically correct.
