アメリカの大学院で言語学(げんごがく)を専攻(せんこう)しています。
I'm majoring in linguistics with a focus on Japanese pedagogy.
日本とアメリカで 日本語を 教(おし)えたことがあります。
I have experience teaching Japanese both in Japan and in the U.S.
日本の大学では映画制作（えいがせいさく）を専攻（せんこう）し、5年間、東京でTVの仕事をしていました。
I majored in filmmaking at a Japanese university and worked for a TV-related company for five years.
私は 英語やデンマーク語、中国語(ちゅうごく ご)を 勉強(べんきょう)したことごあるので、外国語を学ぶ難(むずか)しさが よく分(わ)かります。
I have a lot of experience with language learning such as English, Danish, and Chinese. I understand how challenging it can be to learn foreign languages.

I can't say enough how great Sophie is! Sophie is easy is always prepared. At our last lesson, I couldn't remember what I wanted to learn, but Sophie, not skipping a beat, began teaching me useful day-to-day Japanese. She taught me other grammar points as well and by the end of our time, she had managed to tie all of the grammar points together!
It seemed so effortless on her part.
I love that she uses a spreadsheet to show me the grammar points I missed. My Japanese has improved quickly because of her teaching methods.
She's incredible.

Sophie さん was extremely kind, patient and understanding. She helped me with my exam and assessments enormously and put in the extra time and effort to teach me on the topics I didn't know or understand in the textbook that I provided. We talk about dialects, different locations of Japan and some manner problem. Sophie listen carefully and frenquently correct me on vocabulary, grammar and local expression. She also shares her own stories and help me to view Japan from a local's view. I really enjoy learning Janpanese with Sophie.

I always did conversational classes with her and today was my first class for practicing for interviews. I can see improvement from day one! She explained to me well what things to prepare for the questions and what homework I need to do myself. I am looking forward to doing more classes like this with her.
