Thanks to the care and effort I received in 선생님’s lessons, I was able to build a confidence in my Korean skills. That confidence not only improved my language ability, but that same confidence carried over into helping me secure my first big job! (Plus the Korean skills on my resume don’t hurt haha) I’m truly grateful for 선생님 and look forward to our next lessons.

Just had another wonderful lesson and i will tell you that I have been on Italki for 1 year now and have had 114 lessons with only the last 25 or so with 태원샘 and i can honestly say i have progressed more in these two months than i did the previous 10 months with other teachers. I can only imagine how far I would be if i would have used him the whole time.

Wonderful teacher! He is very prepared, engaging, and professional with lots of energy and patience. He is also multilingual and speaks French fluently with an excellent accent. English is my native language but I speak intermediate French. He is able to explain principles of enunciation that relate to both, which is an unexpected advantage for my language learning. Trying to speak a new language is always hard and makes you nervous and self-conscious but he puts you at ease.

Discovering 태원샘 has been one of the most rewarding parts of learning Korean and I’m profoundly grateful for his guidance. When I started the year, I had a decent grasp of vocabulary—but now, I can hold basic conversations with confidence. My ability to conjugate across tenses and switch between casual and polite speech has improved dramatically. 태원샘’s teaching style is exceptional. He knows exactly when to push me and when to let me explore on my own. Whenever I hit a roadblock, his calm and thorough explanations help me break through. He never gives up until I truly understand the concept. Beyond grammar and vocabulary, 태원샘 enriches each lesson with cultural insights and lifestyle tips that deepen my appreciation for Korea. His sharp ear for pronunciation helps me sound natural and authentic. He’s not just a teacher—he’s a mentor, and I’m so lucky to have learned from someone so committed and skilled. I've been studying Korean alone off-and-on for many years and wanted to get more active practice with communication. 태원샘 uses a great mix of positive and constructive feedback so I never feel like I'm falling behind. This was my first session, so mostly just a discovery session to see where I'm at, and I felt confident he understood my strengths and weaknesses by the end. I booked more sessions immediately!
