My name is Mera and I'm from New York, United States. In our first lesson, I start by getting to know you. Your goals for learning English, any challenges you're facing and skills you'd like to improve. Based on what you share, I create a customized teaching plan with materials and resources tailored to your needs. You can choose a topic you're interested in and I’ll ask you to share your thoughts and opinions. Throughout the lesson, I provide real-time corrections focusing on your vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar, which I will type in our italki chat so you can track your progress after every lesson. I taught IELTS and TOEFL courses at a school in Bali before I started teaching on italki in March 2022. I conducted conversation lessons, exam preparation and group discussions both offline and online. My lessons are structured to help you reach your target in expressing yourself clearly in English. My goal as a teacher is to expand your vocabulary range, improve your pronunciation and teach you expressions and phrases naturally used by native English speakers, particularly in American English. I incorporate quality resources in my lessons including websites full of interesting topics, vocabulary lists and conversation questions to provide you with many opportunities for speaking practice.レッスン形式・教え方
My teaching method focuses on building vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and strengthening English conversational skills. I engage my students in deep and thought-provoking discussions based on topics they choose. I also specialize in preparing students for the speaking sections of the IELTS and TOEFL exams. My exam-prep lesson is designed to help you express your ideas clearly, organize your thoughts effectively, and speak naturally under exam conditions. We will work on fluency, coherence, pronunciation, and grammar. I provide realistic speaking practice, feedback, and practical strategies to help you improve your responses. I also provide group conversations for 5 students per lesson.教材

I had several dozen lessons with Mera. Mera is a very active teacher. She is prepared for every lesson. She is open to new ideas and encourages students to choose new conversation topics. But if students can't think of an idea, don’t worry, Mera always provides high-quality materials for many different topics. Mera's style is focused on natural talking because language is essentially talking. It's one way to check my words. Get cracking!
