I have taken over a thousand hours of classes with thirty teachers on italki. Nearly half of this time has been spent taking Laura's class. Why? Because it provides by far the most efficient and seemingly effortless learning experience. Over our time working together, she has helped me quickly progress to an intermediate level of fluency. Now, I can listen to podcasts, read articles, write stories, and debate complex topics like ethics. Laura uses a variety of learning material and teaching techniques to help me achieve my goals. For me, it's a combination of meeting the HSK standard, watching/reading the news, understanding jokes, and being able to clearly express myself. Depending on what we're doing (and how tired I am), we’ll do different tasks like retelling stories, debating topics, writing new vocabulary, reading articles, and intuiting the meaning of words from their context. I am lucky to have stumbled upon her class. Of all my recommendations, this is my most wholehearted.
