Mohammad Mujtaba

Muhammad is a very organised and competent teacher and I would highly recommend him. I've recently started Persian lessons with him as a complete beginner and everything has gone very well, despite me not even having a basic level in the language. As Mohammad's level of English is excellent, we have been able to communicate without issue. I'm looking forward to continuing classes with him!

Pashto presents a distinct alphabet and phonetic system to English speakers. Even if you have some exposure to how Arabic letters sound, Pashto letters are pronounced differently. For American English speakers, Pashto is, at the beginning, overwhelming. The good news is that Mohammad is patient as unfamiliar sounds come out of an American English speaker's mouth, affected as they are by the tongue, throat, and teeth. As I waded into this new linguistic substance, Mohammad demystified Pashto, explaining who speaks it, where it comes from, and how its sounds compare with other languages. Mohammad is a software engineer and spoke English proficiently. We progressed at a slow pace, which is ideal for a total beginner. Mohammad gave me the option of getting through the entire alphabet or having a basic conversation. Even if you are not sure if you want to continue learning, his homework helps learners find the foundation of Pashto. I recommend Mohammad for those curious about Pashto.

This is my second lesson and Mujtaba has been great. He communicates in English fluently and helps me with pronunciation, answers questions I have about the language and culture, and gives me confidence to speak Dari with my family. If you are looking to learn Dari, I highly recommend him.
