kanako

I usually wouldn't write two of these, but I'm just following up after the trial lesson + a few more. Kanako is a great teacher and has already helped me work through some serious problems I had with speaking Japanese. Naturally, she is good at untangling broken or incorrect Japanese. This is a pretty hard trait to find, I think. Afterwards, she then helps build understanding and ability with very clear explanations. We are working through grammar and she's always prepared (not over-prepared, just... ready to meet the learner where they're at) and gives me some homework (that I requested). Also, because she's really kind, I think I can safely recommend that anyone can at least try a lesson with her and enjoy it.

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Kanako-sensei! She is very kind and fun to talk to. She adapted well to my level, and I found her Japanese easy to understand. She gave me great feedback with examples in the chat box, too. I look forward to taking more lessons from her!

I had another great lesson with Kanako-san. We discussed a variety of things, and we also went through a news article relating to a topic of discussion. She was very helpful in explaining words i had difficulty with, or how to phrase something i wanted to say. Kanako-san, いつもありがとうございます！

I've had 3 conversation practice classes with Kanako-san and I've already booked another 7 more before my trip to Japan!! Kanako-san is encouraging, patient and really easy to talk to. She gives me the confidence to express my thoughts and feelings in Japanese and I'm all the more excited for my trip because of our lessons! I wanted to practice a couple of scenarios with her for my trip (e.g. restaurant, shopping) and she came prepared to the lessons with a specific Google Doc for me with handy phrases suitable for my level! It genuinely feels like chatting with a friend and I feel like that's the best way to learn! She's always thinking about specific phrases or vocab that I personally would need, rather than just generic ones and I really appreciate that thoughtfulness. Kanako-san is also extremely fluent in English so there's no issue there. Thank you Kanako-sensei!!

Kanako's class was awesome! What a great teacher who is well-prepared, patient, and diligent. Loved how she repeats words for it to be retained in your mind and guide you along the way. I highly recommend her class to everyone if you want to learn Japanese from someone who is very experienced and fun to learn with.
