Atsuko

I was very nervous but Atsuko-sensei was very kind and helpful. I am beginning from scratch and she really took her time to explain things to me in detail. She did everything in her teaching style, she presented material, explained, guided, asked questions, and encouraged me. I will continue to work with her and I highly recommend everyone else do so as well.

Had another good lesson with Atsuko-sensei. She's very patient, and skilful at matching her Japanese to my level, so I can enjoy hearing about what she's been up to and learn a bit about Japanese culture. The materials for the "Elementary Grammar & Conversation" course are very good too, especially in conjunction with the book.

My fiancé and I felt very engaged in Atsuko's first lesson! It was great to jump right into describing people's nationalities and occupations, and learning about negation, pronunciation, and compound sentences!

Had a second quick pre-Japan trip crash course with Atsuko who helped me review things which I have previously learnt, putting grammar structures into context of holiday-specific vocabulary, as well as some new phrases to possibly deploy. Atsuko is always ready to explain and give additional examples to illustrate any points made.

Work and life stuff meant I stopped taking regular lessons with Atsuko before, but I needed to start a quick crash course of things I would need for an upcoming trip to Japan. Atsuko is a very flexible teacher and was able to switch from what we had done before which was a more formal structured course following Minna No Nihongo to working in reminding me of certain grammatical structures we had gone through before, like the -te form of verbs, and using those to put together phrases I would likely find more use for, as well as some more travel-situation specific vocabulary.
