I have completed 4 lessons with Di 老师 thus far. Her lessons are well structured and tailored to my goals. I explained that my listening skills were not great and that I wanted to rely less on pinyin as I study. With this, she created the perfect curriculum for me. Our lessons are structured as follows: She sends me a list of vocabulary words to review before each lesson and an audio file of spoken dialogue utilizing the vocabulary words, along with a script. This allows me to practice listening to how words and sentences sound from a native mandarin speaker and I’m able to read the characters associated with the dialogue. In class, we practice speaking using the vocabulary words. After that we recite the dialogue. She asks questions about the dialogue to ensure that I’m understanding what I’m hearing. After class, she sends notes of what was covered, including any new grammar or words learned during our speaking practice. I highly recommend taking a class with her! :)
