Hiroko

I’ve been taking lessons with Hiroko a couple of times a month for many years now. I started as barely conversational Japanese 2 student and I’m now I fluent speaker. That’s not to say that it didn’t require lots of work outside of lessons, but there is no substitute for working with a capable teacher like Hiroko. Over the years she’s helped correct bad habits in my speech, corrected essays and papers in Japanese, read with me to improve my literacy and introduced me to other students and opportunities. In fact she’s done so much it’s impossible to list here. She excels in natural conversation practice (she is very easy to understand, and very good at comprehending even rather broken Japanese) in addition to being a nice conversationalist. Although it seems she might not be the best for beginners who want to start working in English, but in my opinion such immersion is for the best. Give her a shot

Asked Hiroko-Sensei for some guidance on some similar phrases seen quite frequently in business communications with Japanese counterparts. It was really helpful as I do not want to just copy and paste. We also talked about recent natural events in Taiwan!

老师很友善，很爱笑，互动起来很开心。对于第一次与日本人真实对话，顺利沟通30分钟，真的是一次很棒的开始。

二回目のレッスンでしたが、本当に楽しかったです！普段は恥ずかしがり屋で、話かけるのが大変だけど、ひろこさんは明るい性格なので、安心です！いつも面白い話をシェアしてくれたり、笑わせたり、レッスンの時間が経つのは早いです！次回のレッスンを楽しみにしています :)

Today was my first lesson with Hiroko-Sensei. It went very well. She speaks clearly and was funny (in a good way) and good at keeping the conversation going.
