Lessons with Penny have really improved my Chinese and I would recommend her highly to any student, especially those who have a good foundation in the language and would like to become more fluent. She is curious and patient, which means that conversations with her are genuine and I get lots of opportunity to talk. Today we had a conversation practice! I have to pause now and then to come up with words and expression to form a sentence, but no pressure, Pei laoshi is always very patient and will help you say what you want to say or say it better in different ways!

I have had many Mandarin teachers over the course of my life, and Penny stands out above the rest as having lots of engaging topics, really useful teaching tips, and speaks at a dynamic pace and level to train the “sweet spot” of accelerating my learning while also never feeling like I’m confused. She is also a great pleasure to converse with. I would recommend her to any student looking to study Mandarin.
