Hello! My name is Samantha and I'm from Australia, but I live in Japan with my husband and one year old daughter. I'm a native English speaker, but I can also speak some Japanese. My hobbies are cooking, taking photos, watching netflix and anything to do with nature!

I have four years teaching English as a second language in a classroom setting in Japan and I also have some recent experience teaching online to Chinese students. During this time I have taught students from as young as one month old up to 16 years old. I have also completed an advanced TESOL course, specialising in English for pre-school and Private tuition.

As a teacher for kids, I try to make my lessons as fun and interactive as possible.
My teaching style is fun and relaxed. I will always have a lesson plan, however I believe in following the student's lead to keep them engaged. For example, if a student is not enjoying the planned game or topic I will change my plan.

As always, Uta enjoyed her lesson. She has always tailored her lessons according to his level so that he could understand easily. The most valuable thing I think is that she made a good customized lesson plan for him including learning the phonics. It has been amazing to see how much his English has improved in such a short time. I'm hoping he will learn from her more. Thank you so much!
