Dr Nick James

Nick is a professional, supportive, and friendly teacher. In each lesson, he carefully observes how I speak, corrects my errors, and suggests better ways to speak in order to sound more natural. In addition to the course materials, he occasionally introduces me to other materials such as articles, YouTube channels, and websites, which enable me to improve my English speaking skills even outside of class. I have been taking lessons with Nick for over a year, and thanks to this, I have made a significant improvement in the way I speak English.

I definitely recommend Nick to those who have spent lots of time improving their spoken English but the outcome is still very limited. Nick has been teaching me about British pronunciation and English fluency for more than a year. His lessons are very well organised. We started from the basics like how to pronounce English vowels and now we’re doing more advanced things like word linking. At the end of each lesson, he also provides tailor-made feedback on my weaknesses, such as grammatical mistakes and the wrong word choices I made. It is so satisfying for me to find that my pronunciation, intonation and sentence structures are getting much more similar to those of a native speaker. Most importantly, Nick is patient and supportive. He is always eager to provide guidance and encouraging feedback that improve my English and make me believe that someday I’ll be able to speak English like a native speaker.

When I started to learn English with Nick, I was afraid to ask for a napkin in a café in English. But now, thanks to Nick’s lessons I feel more confident; my pronunciation is significantly better; I can generally understand everybody I talk to; I can have conversations on different topics; and I can watch movies without dubbing. And all that inspires me to learn the language even more. So, Nick, your methods really work and I believe that everyone who will follow your guidance will also have great results.
