I was born and raised in Kanazawa, Japan, a beautiful historic city in western Japan. In high school, I participated in a one-year study abroad program in Dunedin, New Zealand, and that was the very beginning of my journey of learning and mastering English! Some of my hobbies include running, traveling, watching documentary movies, and building my English skills!
僕は石川県金沢市で生まれ育ち、現在も金沢在住です。高校時代に、ニュージーランドへ１年間留学する機会があり、その時から語学の学習に勤しみ、また大学では国際関係を専攻していました。小旅行に出かけたり、ドキュメンタリー番組を見る事が好きです。そのようなちょっとした会話も、レッスン中に学習も兼ねてできればと思います！

The college I went to in Boston, USA, had a language and culture learning club, so I had my own class and taught Japanese there for about four consecutive semesters. My students were from all different levels, so I tried my best to tailor my lessons to make each lesson fun and interesting for everyone in the class.レッスン形式・教え方
My goal for every italki lesson is to make it as interactive as possible! I strongly believe that we all learn and get better at a language by actually using it and making millions of mistakes! Please feel free to ask me any questions during my lesson, and I will answer them in the easiest possible way for you to understand.

I had my first lesson with Gen today, and I enjoyed it a lot! We started with brief self-introductions and then discussed some of my learning goals.
Overall, he was understanding of my current Japanese level, and I could easily follow all his feedback during our speaking practice. I'm looking forward to our future lessons!

Gen is always a pleasure to study with. He adjusts his lessons to the student's level and provides immediate and useful feedback. He interacts in a relaxed and low stress manner, and makes it easy for learners to feel at ease. He is always great at answering my questions and providing clarification when needed. The lesson is always enjoyable and flies by. I highly recommend Gen to anyone seeking to learn Japanese.
