Hi, my name is Ben. I've been living in Japan for over 6 years. I grew up speaking two languages, English and Dutch. I started learning Japanese by myself when I was around 18. I'm currently at an intermediate level.

I've been a teacher for 10+ years. I started teaching on italki while I was at university, so I'm comfortable teaching online. I was also an English teacher at junior high schools in Japan. Now I work at a hotel.
10年以上先生として働いています。大学の時にitalkiで教え始めたのでオンラインレッスンを行うのは慣れています。中学校の英語の先生で働いていました。今はホテルで働いています。
I often receive positive feedback, especially about my detailed explanations as to why I corrected the mistakes in a certain way. I also help students with their pronunciation skills. I know the fine details of both English and Dutch pronunciation, and the common mistakes.

I'll help you with whatever you're studying about, or just have a conversation with you if you prefer that. I'll explain the grammar, pronunciation etc. I'm willing to correct/proofread documents. If you give something to me, we'll go through the corrections and explanations together the same or the following lesson.

Ben is a great teacher and I always enjoy our lessons despite finding language learning very difficult. He is very patient and also has a way of describing things that makes them much easier to understand. Dutch is a hard language but Ben makes is much more accessible and fun. Dankjewel!
