I'm sure there are many wonderful teachers on Italki, but Elma is the best! If you are looking for *a lot* of conversation practice, Elma can help. If you have specific academic or professional goals, Elma will be extremely attentive to them. If you'd like to work on your translation skills, she has a master's degree in translation. Her love of languages is infectious. She puts a lot of thought into her assignments and lessons, and she is not just a great teacher, she is also a good person. If you've been wanting to give Italki a try...look no further! I feel fortunate to have Elma as a teacher, and I hope to continue studying with her for a long time.

Elma is wonderful. I have very specific goals I am working toward for school and she takes them as seriously as I do. She gives me a variety of materials to work with outside of class: videos for shadowing, audio for listening, as well as written exercises and references. She also teaches most of our classes completely in Spanish (as opposed to a heavy mix of Spanish and English), which forces me to work on both my conversational and listening skills. She often gives me harder material to push me past my level, and I've benefited immensely from it. I was pretty diligent about my self-study before working with Elma, but having her as a teacher has tremendously accelerated my progress. For that I am so grateful. Italki is lucky to have Elma on the platform. She has a true gift!
