Had a few lessons with Alexei, now. I'm definitely at the beginner level but he's adapted to exercises and activities that are closer to my level. I'm definitely enjoying the classes. Take a lesson with Alexei. If you have baseline Russian skills, even better!

Alexei did a really good job at making me feel comfortable. Russian is a tough language for native English speakers and I had gotten overwhelmed with other teachers quickly. They either have difficulty coming down to your level (beginner for me) or try to get into certain topics too soon. Was very happy to see that Alexei was able to adapt so quickly because if there’s one thing I don’t like in lessons it’s feeling overwhelmed! I would highly recommend him for fellow beginners but I’m sure he does great with all levels of learners!

Alexei so far is the right instructor for me. Keeps things at my level, but also talks to me normally in Russian for me to start picking up all the words that will make me proficient in the long run. I think he's a hidden gem here on iTalki. I'm really enjoying the materials he's putting me through. I don't feel overwhelmed.
