Hello, my name is Hans Simons. I'm from the Netherlands and have lived in many countries such as the US, the UK, Colombia, Italy and Spain. I love reading, a good movie, cooking, thus good food. As you can see, I have travelled the world, which has given me a lot to talk about.

After 4 years teaching here at iTalki, it is, time to update my profile a bit. Here at iTalki I have specialized in teaching Dutch to all level of students: from A0 to C1, inburgering, and medical Dutch for healthcare professionals. Besides Dutch, I also prepare students in English so they can go to Universities in Europe and the US.

My lessons are based on what you want and need. We make a plan together, that way you know what is going to happen and when it is going to happen. Most is conversation based with grammar and vocabulary explanations. In the exam preparation classes I'll not only show you the correct English use of things but also how to do the exam.
De Nederlandse taal wordt gegeven met de methode Zichtbaar Nederlands. We gaan eerst leren waarom zinnen op een bepaalde manier in elkaar gezet moeten worden, wat voor structuur we gebruiken en dan beetje bij beetje woordenschat uitbreiden met lezen, schrijven en praten. Verder leer je hoe inburgering werkt en leer je veel dingen over Nederland.教材

This is my seventh lesson with Hans as he's been helping me prepare for the Dutch inburgering exam. As always I leave my lessons feeling motivated. He's great at explaining the grammar rules without getting to into the weeds has been really helpful for me in improving my writing skills (my weakest area). I'd definitely recommend Hans if you are looking to do the Dutch exams or even if you have one specific area that you need to focus on.

Just had my third lesson with Hans and it was great! He's been helping me prepare for my Dutch Inburgering exams, specifically preparing for the writing portion. His explanations are super clear and I really appreciate that he gives me suggestions on what grammar elements I need to practice in order to improve. I'm looking forward to more of our sessions.
