I'm tolerant, patient and understanding and I think these qualities are needed to teach things to others. I also love interacting with other people and having good conversations. This is why I think teaching is good for me because I get to talk to people while they get to learn.

English TeacherFor five months (April-July), I worked part-time as an English tutor at American Life in Samsun, Türkiye. Though I’d helped friends before, this was my first formal tutoring job. I taught several 1-hour group conversation classes each week, which helped me gain confidence in speaking to groups and teaching new concepts. I enjoy helping others, and teaching English gives me that rewarding feeling of making a difference.

English TutorI started teaching on Italki as soon as I completed my 120-hour TEFL certificate. I saw it as a way to enter the online market and I soon realized that I enjoyed the one-on-one lessons. The English lesson was amazing! The teacher created a wonderful atmosphere, so we didn't feel any pressure or awkwardness. All the activities, from discussions to language games, were engaging and really helped us use English naturally. It was a time when I could combine learning with fun, which is the best way for me to acquire knowledge. I can't wait for the next class!
