Another great lesson with Ninuk! I love how she takes the time to write down words and phrases she uses throughout the lesson so that you have a complete transcript of everything you covered to look back on after the class finishes. I also really appreciate how she teaches you unique facts about Indonesia and shows you cool places you can visit on your travels. She has a real interest in you as a student and what your goals and interests are. I highly recommend her!

Ninuk is an amazing teacher! She cares so deeply about her students and really takes the time to talk to you about your interests and activities so that you know the vocabulary that you're most likely to use in Indonesian. She shares interesting information about Indonesian culture every lesson and isn't afraid of going a little overtime to finish a conversation or help you grasp a concept. I highly recommend her! I’ve had a few classes with Ibu Ninuk so far and she’s a great teacher ! I like the flow of her teaching style. She keeps the conversation moving while helping me translate my thoughts into Indonesian and making corrections as we go. I also notice she quickly adjusts to the limits of my vocabulary, using a lot of words I already know while adding in new words as our conversation progresses. She has a casual and thoughtful demeanor and it makes for a relaxing class that goes by quickly without me even noticing it. 😊🙏

Ninuk is an AMAZING teacher and highly adaptable-- she will teach in the way that works best for you. This might mean formal lessons, activities, and assignments or something more informal. I mostly do the informal approach, and our lessons involve talking with lots of use of the chat. She will often repeat back to me what I have said (and type it into the chat for reference), but more properly; will suggest additional vocabulary; and will ask me questions so that I get good practice both talking and listening. She is also very good at explaining things-- for example, the difference between two similar words (such as when you'd use one vs. the other) or various aspects of grammar/affixes. I am super busy, so I don't study a lot-- thus my progress is slower than it would be if I spent more out-of-class time on the material. But she is very patient, and therefore I don't feel embarrassed or anxious when I make mistakes. And I can see definite progress! I HIGHLY recommend Ninuk!
