Hi, I’m Carmen!
I’m originally from Hannover, Germany, but since 2019 I live in Italy in a valley surrounded by the Alps and close to Lake Como. I consider myself a lucky girl for living here, but of course I miss my family and friends on a daily basis.
Besides being into food, travelling and CrossFit, I’m also a social person and I like going to music shows and collecting vinyl records. I’m in love with our cats and dog and I’m always happy when I go hiking in the mountains or on a bike ride! Currently I’m also trying to step up my Italian game.翻訳を表示する

Well, it can be challenging when you’re not as fluent as you're used to. Therefore I’m looking forward helping you with patience and an easy-going atmosphere. German is my mothertongue and maybe it's interesting for you to know that I have a clear pronunciation and a very neutral “Standard German" accent. As a community tutor I’m happy to offer you conversation practice!
This includes for example your pronunciation, range of vocabulary and the use of idioms. If you book more lessons with me we could also add reading, listening and writing comprehensions for more variety.
On a sidenote: I’ve worked plenty of years in offices, which leads to the possibility of also helping you well with more formal subjects like “How to make an official phone call” and so on.5.0

When I started studying with Carmen three years ago, my level was B2. Now I'm a happy owner of a C2 Goethe certificate (with 100 points for speaking). And I can't be grateful enough. Carmen always does everything perfectly, regarding not only the exam preparation but also the regular classes. Being a teacher myself, I can highly recommend her and call her a real professional!

this is the last lesson before my B2 exam, and Carmen has given her 100% to help me on this preparation. all I want to say is "thank you, Carmen, for everything you've done during our lessons." You are surely the best teacher I've ever found on italki. You are not only professional but also very kind and friendly. I feel so lucky to have a teacher like you to learn German with. Before classes with Carmen I could barely speak German, even after studying on my own for a long time. Now however, I can have in-depth conversations and feel more comfortable every time. She is kind, patient, genuinely interesting to talk to and corrects my mistakes concisely, while also letting me express myself at my own pace. I would recommend Carmen to anyone who is struggling to unlock their German knowledge and turn it into practical ability. Will continue to rebook for sure.
