LING

Ling is a beacon in my journey to learn Mandarin. I use apps but with Ling, I get an hour of immersion. It challenges me. I realize that her speaking naturally is beyond me following her at this point. But, I actually come away encouraged. The little victories I get in each of her lessons holds the promise that I'm going to make it. I don't have a lot of experience with other teachers. I found Ling and I stopped looking. Ling is a great language teacher but she is more than that. We explore philosophy and the differences in culture. The vocabulary comes up naturally. I'm motivated to learn more language so that I can better understand Chinese culture and Ling helps me with both. I highly recommend her as a language teacher. Thank you. Tong

I rely on Ling to correct my pronunciation but more than that, she helps me with the whole language. In something as simple as telling time, she helped me with what to say. From English, I wanted to say "A quarter to eight". She gave me the most natural way to say it in Chinese. I want to learn to read and write but those don't make sense without a larger understanding of the thinking of the culture. She is outstanding at bridging the two cultures. -Tong

I want to connect to Chinese people and culture and Ling is perfect for my needs. She allows me to focus on connecting our cultures. The language flows naturally from that.
