Amani Shamalka

In the previous 100+ hours of lessons, Amani always provided me valuable feedback and corrected my errors during our conversation in Sinhala, she was patient, helpful, and well-prepared, I could not have made great progress in my proficiency in spoken Sinhala without her help. Now I am even trying to read written Sinhala, something I had never imagined one day I would manage to do. I highly recommend Amani to any serious learner of Sinhala!

We learned pronunciation rules for letters “අ” and “හ”. We also learned extended relatives such as ලොකු ආච්චි

Amani played a really fun game with my daughter to check her Sinhala knowledge. Kahoot is a site they use at school as well and she was very excited to play it and it made the assessment fun!

I like that the lessons are not too fast, as it gives me time to absorb the new information. And Amani is also good at gently correcting errors :)

I like that as we learn new grammar, we re-use the same vocab in different ways. I also find that the types of sentences we paractice are often things that I would probably need to say in real life in Sri Lanka.
