Hello😃 I am Shu(しゅう). I am Japanese and living in Tokyo.
I like movies, music and drawing picutures very much.
I like to learn language as well. I learned how to speak in English without studying or living in foreign country. I know beauties and difficulties of learning languages. I would love to share the tips with you in my class.
My major in university was Japanese linguistics and I learned how to teach Japanese for foreign students.
I also have 3 certification of Japanese teaching. I completed 420 hours of training as a Japanese teacher and passed the Japanese teaching ability exams of Jees and Zenyokyo.

#Everyone learns through mistakes
My motto of teaching is "Don't make students hesitate to make mistake". I also make tons of mistakes when I am taking foreign language class. I will try to create warm and relaxed atmosphere in class so that you can be relaxed and talk spontaneously.

My class focuses on conversation.
Talking about your daily life and sharing our information helps vocabulary become part of your everyday thinking.
Typical procedure is as follows.
(1)small talk
(2)checking homework(mainly composition or diary)
We often expand the conversation based on what you wrote.
(3)grammar study and practice using the target grammar
Of course, I’m happy to adjust the class to suit your needs.

Shu is a very kind teacher. He meets you at whatever level of Japanese you're at and is very patient with you. If you don't understand something, he is quick to help you understand by showing examples, explaining it in more detail, or spelling it out in Kana for you. When you do get something right, he is very encouraging. He also shows in interest in your interests, and uses those in his lessons to help connect with you the language. He trained me quite well for the N5 test! He is very easy to talk to, and is also flexible with his schedule which is incredibly helpful.

I have been doing free conversations with Shuu for the past 6 months now and feel my skill and confidence in speaking have risen tremendously. From the start Shuu creates a no-pressure environment, encouraging you to take as much time as needed to say what you want to say, and working out any kinks along the way. He has also helped to clear up vocab nuance confusion and I always walk away from our conversations with a few new words too! I would highly recommend Shuu to anyone looking to up their Japanese skill in any regard!

I've had lessons with Shu Sensei for 1.5 years now, and have improved significantly in terms of my overall Japanese speaking, writing, and reading capabilities. Shu Sensei has always been incredibly patient, thorough in his explanations, and always knows how to make you feel comfortable with expressing yourself. Looking back at the homework I wrote at the start of my lessons to what I write now, I can really see just how much I've improved under Shu Sensei's guidance. When I travel to Japan etc. I'm also shocked by just how much better I've gotten at speaking/listening, mostly due to my lessons with Shu Sensei. I thus highly recommend him to everyone!
