Nelly Moreno

Nelly has excellent technique for guiding and correcting without interrupting my flow of speaking (if I’m on a roll), and also helps build vocabulary and phrasing in a gentle, inspiring and non-threatening manner.

Nelly was really good at allowing me to speak and express myself before correcting me. Her explanations were thorough and were at a level of spanish I could clearly understand. She explained enough grammar for me to understand, for example why the subjunctive was best used for a particular sentence. without it slowing the conversation. I know the grammar in theory and can do it in exercises, but it is very different when I am trying to speak. The conversation today with the real time corrections of what i was saying was very helpful. Today she took my clunky expressions and taught me the colloquial expressions for what I was trying to say. This will definitely help me improve my fluency over time without me sounding like I am reading from a textbook. I am looking forward to more classes with her.

Nelly is a very good teacher! She is patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. She structures the lessons around the things that will help me the most to improve my Spanish, and also suggests material for me to read or listen to that are relevant to my interests. I highly recommend her!

After several lessons with Nelly, I have to say she is one of the best teachers on Italki. She is very patient as I stumble through our conversation. She has a great sense of timing for making corrections. And she has helped me immensely with my pronunciation.
